Because ultimately, prayer is about our relationship with God. Today the heart of God is an open wound of love. He aches over our distance and preoccupation. He mourns that we do not draw near to him… He longs for our presence (RICHARD FOSTER).

Because God is calling ordinary people to come home to extraordinary prayer! To devote ourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful (COLOSSIANS 4:2). To seek him with all our hearts (JEREMIAH 29:13). To never be silent. To call on him day and night. To take no rest. To give him no rest—until Singapore turns Godward (ISAIAH 62:6-7).

Because historically, there has never been a spiritual awakening in any country or locality that did not begin in united prayer. God always hears the humble, desperate, united and repentant prayers of his people (A.T. PIERSON). When we rend our hearts, God rends the heavens and comes down and does awesome things beyond our expectation.

Because there is coming a mighty harvest of souls and righteousness upon our land. For this to happen, God must first move upon his people and upon the hearts of those who have yet to believe. Which is why prayer is indispensable and why God is already at work to move us to a new realm of ‘intimate, beseeching-in-brokenness prayer’ (BISHOP RENNIS PONNIAH, NCCS PRESIDENT).

Because prayer is love on its knees (DICK EASTMAN). We love God. We love the lost. We love Singapore. 2018 is the Year of Prayer. Imagine Singapore filled with HOPE: Houses of Prayer Everywhere! 2019 is the Year of Proclamation. Envision Celebration of Hope, personal evangelism on a mass scale, climaxing at the National Stadium (17-19 MAY 2019). When we sow in tears, we shall reap with shouts of joy (PSALM 126:5).
